The Big Help Out at YHA
The Big Help Out is an event showcasing the benefits of volunteering for people and the wider community. Originating as part of the King's coronation, this annual event encourages communities to come together to create a lasting volunteering legacy. This year The Big Help Out is running across the weekend Friday 7 June to Sunday 9 June 2024.
Various hostels across the network will be offering micro-volunteering opportunities with bug hostel kits or BMC "Hills to Oceans" litter picking kits available to reserve and collect. These are great for a self-led family activity which introduces children and adults to basic conservation volunteering.
The litter picking kits are part of the BMC’s Hills 2 Oceans (H2O) campaign which aims to remove as much litter and plastic from our hills, mountains and crags as possible so it doesn’t end up in our oceans.
